OIL LEAK – Immediate Actions

OIL LEAK – Immediate Actions

  1. Identify the source of the leak and try to stem the flow if possible and if it is safe to do so. Depending on where the leak has occurred, this could be done by switching off the valve at the oil tank, or by arranging for the remaining contents of the oil tank to be temporarily removed.

  2. If spilled fuel is on the ground, try to absorb this wherever possible to prevent the spread of spilled fuel to nearby buildings or neighbouring property etc.
  3. Call Nationwide Oil Leaks on 1890 929555 to talk to a competent environmental consultant and remediation contractor to provide you with advice on the problem.
  4. Notify your insurance company. If you suspect that you have had an oil leak and you have property insurance, you should notify your insurance company as soon as possible.
